Chris Brown Reunites With Rihanna in Miami

Chris Brown Reunites With Rihanna in Miami(E! Online) ...

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Word is, Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together.

E! News has learned that the R&B-star duo are spending one-on-one time at Sean "Diddy" Combs' Star Island mansion in Miami Beach.

"It's very private, you can't see onto the property," a source said of Combs' nearly 13,000-square-foot beachfront home.

Earlier this week, sources said that the pair had been in touch, with Brown contacting Rihanna on her 21st birthday on Feb. 20.

A rep for the "Disturbia" singer denied that she had talked to him on the phone but... They apparently reconnected somehow.

"While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves," a source told People, which first reported the apparent reconciliation.

This looks to be the pair's first in-person reunion since Brown was arrested Feb. 8 for allegedly assaulting Rihanna and leaving her with visible injuries. Except for flashes of them in transit (separately) from here to there, and some pics of Rihanna that just surfaced from her sojourn to Mexico last weekend, both have lain incredibly low since.

Brown, who was booked on Grammy night on suspicion of making criminal threats, is due to be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court on March 5 but, according to the L.A. District Attorney's Office, that might not happen.

"We don't have the evidence yet. [LAPD detectives] are still investigating," D.A. spokeswoman Jane Robison told E! News Wednesday.

"The D.A. is being even more thorough than usual with this case. They don't want to mess it up," said a source close to the investigation.

At this point, it's unclear what Rihanna and Brown's reported reunion could mean for the D.A.'s case.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired," Brown said in a statement released Feb. 15. "I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person."

Real Housewives' Kim Peeved at Ex-Publicist—and Vice Versa!

Real Housewives' Kim Peeved at Ex-Publicist—and Vice Versa! E! Online – Real Housewives' Kim Peeved at Ex-Publicist—and Vice Versa!(E! Online)

Los Angeles (E! Online) – Kim Zolciak is having an image crisis—with the guy who used to be responsible for her image.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta hausfrau has been sued for breach-of-contract by her publicist, whom she is simultaneously trying to restrain via a court order.

Per TMZ.com, Zolciak has filed a request for a protective order against her former rep, Jonathan Jaxson, in which she accuses him of using the website KimZolciakOnline.com to sabotage her. The brash blonde claims Jaxson changed the password and security settings so she couldn't access the site and then posted a littany of lies about her.

But according to Jaxson's camp, it's Zolciak who needs a lesson on how to play nice with others.

"Jaxson is in fear for his safety and has filed a police report with the Atlanta Police Department after threats were made concerning his well-being by Ms. Zolciak," a rep for Jaxson tells E! News.

Jaxson filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against the aspiring country songstress Feb. 23 for $15,000 in back fees, claiming she had stopped paying his monthly retainer fee, thereby immediately voiding their contract.

And furthermore, Jaxson's rep says, he owns the website Zolciak has accused him of hijacking.

Zolciak could not immediately be reached for comment.

Nick Mitchell has 'American Idol' judges laughing

In this image released by Fox, AP – In this image released by Fox, 'American Idol' contestant Nick Mitchell is shown. (AP Photo/Fox, Michael …

NEW YORK – "American Idol" hopeful Nick Mitchell didn't win over the judges with his singing, but his over-the-top style clearly qualified as comedy.

Mitchell left the judges laughing and nearly speechless Wednesday after he wailed a show-stopper from the musical "Dreamgirls." He came on as the flamboyant alter ego he has christened Norman Gentle.

Simon Cowell called the performance "atrocious" and "horrific," and his three fellow judges didn't argue.

The acerbic Cowell had no kinder comments for Matt Giraud: "verging on a horrible performance."

And Jeanine Vailes moved the gentler Randy Jackson to say that her performance's "best part was the end, when it was over."

    But all wasn't lost.

Red-haired, full-throated Allison Iraheta wowed the judges.

"This is a funny show tonight," marveled Jackson when the 16-year-old Los Angeles native was done. "First, we had comedy, we got some bad singing. You just blew it out the box!"

"From now on, you can be sure you're great," raved Kara DioGuardi.

On Wednesday's live broadcast, the second group of 12 contestants were vying to be among this season's dozen finalists. The night's top three vote-getters will be revealed on the Fox series' Thursday episode.

Oscar-winner 'Slumdog' a millionaire beneficiary

AP – 'Slumdog Millionaire' director Danny Boyle, right, holds his Oscar for Best Director alongside cast members …

LOS ANGELES – "Slumdog Millionaire" hauled in the most Oscars but it also received the biggest bounce at the box office of the best-picture nominees.

The rags-to-riches tale brought in an extra $54 million domestically since its nomination Jan. 22 — more than doubling its gross since its November premiere, to $98 million to date.

The lift for the winner of eight Oscars on Sunday, including best picture and director, was more than all of the four other best-picture nominees combined, according to tracking firm Media By Numbers LLC.

"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," the next biggest beneficiary from the post-nomination period and the winner of three Oscars, added just $20.6 million to its $124.2 million total.

The sometime disconnect between critical acclaim and box-office success was given a humorous nod by host Hugh Jackman in his opening number.

"'The Reader,' I haven't seen 'The Reader.' I know I need to see 'The Reader,'" Jackman sang, referring the Holocaust-themed drama, for which Kate Winslet won the best actress award. "I ran out of time."

The worsening economy almost sank "Slumdog" as Time Warner Inc. announced it would shut down Warner Independent, which had bought its North American distribution rights. The movie was headed for a direct-to-DVD release when News Corp.'s Fox Searchlight stepped in to distribute it, eventually showing it in 1,600 theaters nationwide.

Flush with success, director Danny Boyle and producer Christian Colson said they hoped the big win would convince studios to continue to take chances on smaller films.

"Even the studios will note that we made this for 7 million pounds ($10 million), and it's going to cross $100 million in the U.S. Tuesday or Wednesday. That's good business for them," Colson said, clutching his statuette backstage.

He hoped the success would convince studios to fund independent-style films that "don't tick all the boxes" of criteria for marketing success.

"If the best of those can get made and our film helps that to happen, well I'm even prouder of these," he said.

Boyle nodded to best supporting actor winner Heath Ledger, and said small films are what give fledgling actors and directors their start.

"Heath started small as well. He started in small films. Everybody does," Boyle said. "You've got to protect them. It's difficult because the studios are under pressure, but the studios have to protect them as well."

Despite its troubled start, the uplifting story about a downtrodden boy and girl falling in love through tough times turned out to be exactly what audiences wanted to see.

"Actually it's a film that says there are more important things than money," said Simon Beaufoy, who took home an Oscar for best adapted screenplay, to reporters backstage. "That struck a chord."

Still, the win comes at a troubling time for major studios, which have announced restructuring plans as well as smaller film slates going forward to mitigate risk in a tough economy.

Several niche labels have recently shut down or been folded into their parents, including Warner Bros.' Warner Independent, Picturehouse and New Line Cinema brands, Paramount's Paramount Vantage, and Capitol Films' THINKFilm.

Among the other best-picture nominees, Universal Pictures' "Frost/Nixon" nearly doubled its post-nomination gross by $8.6 million to $17.4 million; The Weinstein Co.'s "The Reader," gained $15.3 million to $23.2 million; and "Milk," by Universal's Focus Features added $7.6 million to $28.2 million.

Meryl Streep is Oscars sister superior

Meryl Streep is Oscars sister superior AFP/Getty Images/File – Meryl Streep accepts the Female Actor in a Leading Role award for "Doubt" during the 15th Annual …

HOLLYWOOD (AFP) – Another year, another nomination. Meryl Streep may joke that awards mean nothing to her anymore but after a record 15 nominations she remains the grande dame of the Oscars.

The 59-year-old Hollywood icon is in the running for her third Oscar here Sunday, nominated as best actress for her role in religious drama "Doubt," some 30 years after her first Academy Award nod for "The Deer Hunter."

Streep is the biggest threat to British actress Kate Winslet's chances of an Oscar, and perhaps ominously, won the Screen Actors Guild award last month.

"Even though awards mean nothing to me any more. I'm really happy," Streep joked after collecting the SAG honor.

Yet although Streep says her previous Oscar wins have given her a sense of validation, she admits that defeat on Sunday will still hurt.

"When you lose, you think my work wasn't any good. But it's an honor to be nominated, and it is! It is. But you just feel worse when you lose than you did before you got nominated," she told ABC television last month.

Streep's first Oscar win came for 1979's "Kramer vs Kramer," followed by a second for her portrayal of a Jewish concentration camp prisoner in "Sophie's Choice" in 1982.

Streep, though, has never been one to get carried away by the trappings of fame, preferring to live as anonymously as possible at her home, where she has raised her four children.

"Being famous gets in the way of a lot of things," she once told an interviewer. "My family really does come first. It always did and always will."

The graduate of prestigious Vassar College and Yale University has kept Hollywood and the media firmly at an arm's length for years.

She insists on not working during her children's school terms, spends little time with industry folk and left Los Angeles years ago and refuses to talk publicly about her personal life.

Yet the reluctance to play the celebrity game has not interfered with the stellar trajectory of a career that has seen her acquire iconic status through the near mythical attention to detail she puts into her work.

For "Sophie's Choice" she learnt to speak Polish so well that many locals believed she was a Pole; for "Music of the Heart," she learned to play the violin, practicing six hours each day for eight weeks, for "A Cry in the Dark" she perfected an Australian twang.

"If I am not confident that I can portray the character perfectly on screen, I won?t even try," Streep says.

The technical mastery of her craft has sometimes divided Hollywood. Bette Davis wrote Streep a letter before her death praising her as America's finest actress; Katharine Hepburn once described Streep as her least favorite.

Born Mary Louise Streep in June 1949 to a New Jersey pharmaceutical executive and a commercial artist mother, Streep went to an exclusive school where she became a cheerleader and began acting in plays.

She continued acting at Vassar, where she studied English and drama, before winning a drama scholarship to Yale, where she graduated in 1975.

Her Broadway debut came in 1975 with "Trelawny of the Wells," for which she won rave reviews, while her film start came in 1977 with "Julia."

Her career was really launched with Woody Allen's "Manhattan" (1979), followed by a string of huge successes: "The Deer Hunter" (1978), for which she won her first Oscar nomination, "Kramer vs Kramer," "The French Lieutenant's Woman" (1981) and "Sophie's Choice" (1982).

She made a string of other hits including 1984's "Silkwood," "Out of Africa" (1986), 1988's "A Cry in the Dark," 1990's "Postcards from the Edge", "The Bridges of Madison County" (1995) and Music of the Heart" (1999).

The new millennium has seen no let-up in Streep's output. She received Oscar nominations for 2003's "Adaptation" and has a string of other projects in the pipeline, including two political dramas "Rendition" and "Lions for Lambs".

Her astonishing versatility was highlighted by her contrasting performances in two vastly different 2008 films "Doubt" and the big-screen adaptation of the ABBA musical "Mamma Mia!"

'King of Pop' eyes concert comeback in London

'King of Pop' eyes concert comeback in London: reports AFP/Pool/File – Pop megastar Michael Jackson is in advanced talks with concert organisers for a series of up to 30 live …

LONDON (AFP) – Pop megastar Michael Jackson is in advanced talks with concert organisers for a comeback series of up to 30 live shows at London's O2 Arena this summer, newspapers reported Saturday.

According to The Times, The Sun and the Daily Mail, which all cited unnamed sources, the 50-year-old "King of Pop" could command concert fees of up to 1.5 million pounds (1.7 million euros, 2.1 million dollars) per show to revive his career.

The newspapers said that London is competing with a US venue -- reportedly Las Vegas -- for Jackson's concerts.

It would mark his first major series of concerts since his 2005 acquittal on charges of child sex molestation.

"It is only at discussion stage but if it comes off it will be amazing," a spokeswoman for his agents, the Outside Organisation, told The Sun.

An unidentified source told the Daily Mail: "It will be the greatest comeback in the history of pop and there would be no problem selling out the O2 every night."

"No one is concerned about his reputation and people don't feel it is a risk. Organisers are confident people will come from all over the world to see him."

VIP ticket packages could go for 1,000 pounds and Jackson could earn up to 50 million pounds from the shows at the 20,000-seat arena, The Times said.

"He is arguably the world's greatest entertainer and now Michael wants to seal his musical legacy," a figure close to the talks was quoted as saying by The Times.

Jackson, who is reportedly suffering from financial difficulties, has virtually disappeared from the public eye since his acquittal in his 2005 trial. He has been living in different places including a spell in Bahrain, in Europe and Las Vegas.

He has repeatedly said he is working on a new album, but so far nothing concrete has materialized. His 1982 hit "Thriller" remains the best-selling album of all time.

The last time he was in London was November 2006, when he appeared at the World Music Awards to accept an award for selling more than 100 million albums over the course of his career.

Though it had been expected that Jackson would recreate "Thriller" at the awards, he instead sang only a few lines of "We Are The World" with a group of youngsters.

In November, he came to a settlement in a London court with a Bahraini prince over a seven-million-dollar lawsuit.

The same month, he lost ownership of his famous Neverland ranch in California after transferring the deeds to a company he has a share in, media reports said.

The eccentric singer purchased the sprawling 1,000 hectare (2,800 acres) ranch in Santa Barbara County in 1987 and set out to transform it into a paradise for children, at one point opening a zoo and a roller-coaster.

But he has not lived in it since his 2005 trial, which arose from alleged incidents involving a young boy at the property.

'American Idol' selects first 3 finalists

In this image released by Fox, AP – In this image released by Fox, 'American Idol' contestant Alexis Grace is shown. (AP Photo/Fox, Chris …

LOS ANGELES – Tatiana Del Toro had something else to cry about. The emotional 28-year-old crooner from San Juan, Puerto Rico, was one of nine "American Idol" semifinalists sent packing Wednesday. Del Toro, whom judge Simon Cowell called a "drama queen" after her performance Tuesday, bawled after she wasn't selected to continue in the "Fox" singing competition.

"It's up to America," she told host Ryan Seacrest before the results. "It's up to the power of love."

No tears were shed by the first three finalists of season eight: Alexis Grace, the soulful 21-year-old single mother from Memphis, Tenn.; Michael Sarver, the beefy 27-year-old oil rig worker from Jasper, Texas; and Danny Gokey, the spikey-haired 28-year-old church music director from Milwaukee. The trio received the most viewer votes.

Recent widower Gokey overwhelmed the judges with Mariah Carey's "Hero" at the conclusion of Tuesday's ho-hum performance episode. They were also impressed with Grace's take on Aretha Franklin's "Never Loved a Man," comparing her to first "Idol" Kelly Clarkson. Sarver, who sang Gavin Degraw's "I Don't Wanna Be," received a mixed reaction from the panel.

"I think if you get through, it's because people like you," Cowell told Sarver on Tuesday.

Next week, 12 more semifinalists will vie for three spots in the competition's top 12, but Del Toro and the other dismissed semifinalists, such as Anoop Desai and Ricky Braddy, may have another chance. After the first nine finalists are selected by viewer votes, the judges will pick the last three finalists following a wild card round March 5.

    like home.”

Everytime the 24-year-old actress would travel all over to promote the movie, she would feel homesick. She likes relaxing in NY, as that’s where she can gather her thoughts, a website quoted her as saying.

She said, “There’s something about New York. It’s quite a lot like Mumbai in many ways, but it’s (Mumbai) not as organised as this city and obviously not as cool as New York. Everyone keeps asking me why not LA, but the thing is, I don’t want to feel really homesick. New York just feels like home.” Source URL: https://pokbongkoh.blogspot.com/2009/02/

Britney turns sexy housewife!

The singer, whose Circus tour starts next month, spent Tuesday filming the video for her upcoming single If U Seek Amy " in which plays a sexy housewife dressed in blonde ''50s style wig, fitted pink top and white skirt, sources told People.

"The video begins with Britney coming outside her house to hand the paparazzi an apple pie that she baked," says a source.

"She acts like she wants to hook up. The video is very provocative," the source added.

In part of the video, Spears is accompanied by two adorable perfectly-groomed children and a straight-laced man wearing khakis and a sweater over his shoulders.

However, an insider revealed that in the video there are also lots of dancers "dressed in skimpy outfits in metallic color" and revealing costumes for Spears included in the shoot.

According to several sources, Britney was very professional and upbeat on the set.

"She was like the old Britney at the shoot. She was engaged and excited the whole day and seemed like her old self," says a source.
