Mahindra & Mahindra renames Logan as Verito for Indian auto market
Mahindra & Mahindra have today announced that they are renaming their Logan and are now calling it the Verito. This change of name comes exactly twelve months after the company had withdrawn from a joint venture with French auto maker ‘Renault’. The newly named Verito will carry the Mahindra insignia but the company did not mention any details regarding price of the vehicle.
At present, petrol and diesel alternatives of the Logan is available at a price of 4.67 lakhs and 6.47 lakhs respectively. It was exactly twelve months ago that Mahindra & Mahindra and Renault who had entered into this joint venture in 2005 and which was called Mahindra Renault Pvt. Ltd decided to call it a day.
Mahindra bought out Renault’s share of 49% and the two companies went their separate ways, though Renault still continued to offer service support for components, engine and transmission for Logan. As per terms of the contract Mahindra & Mahindra could continue to use the Logan brand name for a period of 18 months only. --- READ MORE
