We didn’t think there was a popularity poll left on the planet that Cheryl Cole hadn’t already won, but today she’s been announced as the Fashion Icon Of The Decade in a poll done by Galaxy. And by that we mean the yummy chocolate, not the actual entire galaxy. Chezza stormed to the top with over a third of the votes, beating the likes of fashion-forward (or should that be backward) Lady Gaga and Lily Allen. The new research from Galaxy Counters, released to mark its return from the ’80s, found Chezza Cole has a similar impact on current fashion trends as Madonna did in her 80s heyday. Has she really? Madge we can understand, but has Cheryl really started any trends? At least the British public has some sense, because Katie Price only got one per cent of the overall vote. So, do you think Cheryl Cole deserves the same status as Madonna when it comes to being a fashion icon?
